Le site The Cone Collector fait peau neuve avec de très nombreuses informations maintenant disponibles.

Y compris le RKK : The Manual of the living Conidae en version téléchargeable...
Vous n'avez plus le droit de faire semblant de ne pas connaitre... LOL

Dear friends,
Quite exciting news today!
Following Gavin Malcolm’s survey, the results of which were presented at the 3rd International Cone Meeting in Madrid, last October, we have been working on a number of significant improvements in the TCC website.
You will remember that until now the site mainly offered the numbers of our bulletin The Cone Collector, Mike Filmer’s work and Paul Kersten’s Checklist. Now, when you access it at www.theconecollector.com you will find several new features already available.
On top of the Home Page you will find links to the various sections:
As you can see, we have introduced the following:
a)A section about classification: above species hierarchy of names has been started.
b)A section with reports of International Cone collector meetings to encourage others to attend future meetings or to join the Cone community, if new to the field.
c)A What’s New section with info on new species, major cone books published etc.
d)A section on cone identification has been started. We hope to add other items and keep updated and certainly encourage geographic or species complex articles for The Cone Collector which can be added to this section afterwards.
e)The full reproduction of the famous Röckel, Korn & Kohn Manual of the Living Conidae. This is still one of the best references for Indo Pacific cones, and one that is out of print and now difficult to obtain for new cone collectors (copies occasionally appear for sale in the secondary market for upwards of US$500.00). We do thank Carsten Renker, Klaus Groh and of course the authors for their support to this project.
Many have contributed to bring you this major upgrading of our site and risking leaving someone out – which would of course be quite unforgivable – I must extend our warm thanks to the likes of Gavin Malcolm, André Poremski, Manuel Jimenez Tenorio, Christophe Roux, Bill Fenzan, Gabriella Raybaudi Massilia and Nicolas Puillandre.
We are examining the possibility of including still other features to the site (including listings and other information about fossil Cones, an updated index for TCC, photos of live animals, etc.). We will get there!
Everybody is invited to help, namely by sending photos of live animals (with precise locality data and identification whenever possible) that we can upload.
We would also like to enliven our presence in Facebook and would welcome a volunteer to help in that particular area. Anybody so inclined please get in touch.
All for now.
Warm regards,
António M.
